"Somebody's Gotta Do It" Acoustic Premiere - + Bonus VIdeo featuring her mentor, Pam Tillis

We are honored to present the premiere of the acoustic video for Paige King Johnson’s latest single, “Somebody’s Gotta Do It.”

One of my professors once remarked that depictions of being in love—not yearning for someone’s attention or the first mad delight of falling into one another’s arms—are exceedingly rare. Today, male country singers specialize (haven’t they always?) in seductive appeals, while the breakup songs from women are seemingly without number, including a sub-category devoted to self-sufficiency as a form of revenge. (See Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers.”)

Here, Paige King Johnson angles in via tongue-in-cheek lyrics on the abundant and enduring joys of married love. It’s a song all about sustained happiness, and in that way a small miracle.

I guess I’ll step up and be the girl
That has to be the center of his whole world
It’s a tough gig to deal with. Go ahead sign me up
If he needs loving all night long
Or something pretty to kiss on
I guess I’ll be the one to suffer through it
Hey hey hey if somebody’s gotta do it

Once you’ve enjoyed this charming new single, I thought you’d also appreciate this video developed by Cowgirl Magazine—a behind the scenes look at the mentoring role country star Pam Tillis has played in Paige King Johnson’s flourishing career.
